Oxford Masterclass in Epileptology
Join leading experts at Corpus Christi College, Oxford on May 9th, 2025 for a deep dive into the intersection of epilepsy and big data. Explore how large datasets are revolutionizing our understanding of epilepsy, from epidemiology and genetics to imaging and treatment. This masterclass will cover the potential and challenges of utilizing big data to improve diagnosis, develop new therapies, and ultimately enhance the lives of individuals living with epilepsy.
The AfOx Fellowship offers African researchers a 12-month affiliation with Oxford, including 10 months of virtual engagement and a 2-month in-person visit (April–June). Fellows collaborate with an Oxford department and college. Opportunities are available across partnerships, including a focus on equitable healthcare in low- and middle-income countries. We encourage applications from female and underrepresented researchers. AfOx Fellows have built lasting collaborations, driving impactful research and policy engagement. NDCN Newsroom Discussion Centre for Global Epilepsy
Professor Arjune Sen, Chief Executive of the Centre for Global Epilepsy, joined Professor Kevin Talbot, Head of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, for the Lunchtime Newsround at the University of Oxford. They discussed the Centre's work and the importance of global collaboration in advancing epilepsy care. Audience members contributed insightful questions and discussion topics, including sleep, ageing, and the Centre's long-term ambitions.

Centre for Global Epilepsy Launch
The official launch of the Centre for Global Epilepsy at Wolfson College welcomed over 100 guests, including international, national, and local partners, to celebrate the opening of the world’s first centre dedicated to advancing global epilepsy research and care. Epilepsy and Stigma: Challenges and Solutions
The launch of the Centre for Global Epilepsy featured an engaging event, Epilepsy & Stigma: Challenges & Solutions, part of the Mind Brain Behaviour Research Cluster series. The event explored the impact of stigma on those living with epilepsy through expert talks, lived experiences, and a screening of The Curse of Stigma.
